2007 Tattoos for Men Profile of Darren Goodwin
"I dig women in uniform, we found Darren Goodwin telling the female cop he'd somehow lured over to the booth where he was hanging out at the convention. Can I see your gun?"

This Acworth, GA native has come a long way from his Baptist upbringing, telling us his favorite things are "Tattoos, Slayer, hot chicks, and guns." While this son of a minister doesn't remember any particular moment when he decided to pursue tattoos as one of his life's passions, he says he just always knew he didn't want to be the same as everyone else. His impressive tattoo collection and boisterous personality definitely make him stand out from the crowd.
Darren works as a professional HVAC technician, which involves climbing around on top of a lot of huge buildings in the sweltering Georgia heat. He says he lives a pretty simple life: "I work hard, come home, hang out with friends. That's it."
Darren has become great friends with the tattoo artist that do his work, occasionally traveling with them to conventions to help out in the booth. He says that he trusts the judgment of his artists, but he sometimes gives them input: "They'll show me a face, and I'll tell them that it's great, but I'd like it more if they put a bullet in her head. We always work it out so that everyone is happy."
Darren won Tattoo of The Day for his Dimebag Darrell tribute by All Or Nothing's Nate Beavers. Nate tells us, "I had the worst reference material ever for a portrait style piece, but the tattoo came out better than I'd imagined." Nobody deserves it more than Darren. Dimebag's music means the world to him. See more of Nate's work at www.natebeavers.com.
